Columbia Middle School - Taylor Campus students said a big "Thank You for dinner!" to both the garden and The Columbia Food Bank today. Students left the garden with kale and garlic and then from us, they each had butter and rice in their bags to make the recipe with their families. We're so grateful to engage young minds. Thank you to the Columbia Borough School District for thinking of us!

Our Lady of the Angels School collected almost 100 pounds of food for us. Third, fourth, and fifth graders collected the food during Holy Week and brought it to the food bank see first-hand where the food goes.

Members of Wind Spirit Flute Ensemble performed a benefit concert at St John Evangelical Church on April 2,2023 in support of The Columbia Food Bank. Pictured are Danielle Peters, director of the food bank and members of the Ensemble, Sheila Long, Jenny Fritsch, Sarah Cahoe, and founder/director Allen Anderson. All members are graduates of Millersville University and they perform at various community outreach programs in Dauphin and Lancaster Counties.

We wish to thank Universal Athletic Club, Kleen-Rite Corp, Mountville Lions Club, Dayspring Christian Academy, St. Anne's Retirement Community, the local churches of the Ministerium, Prospect Diner, and Columbia Family Restaurant for their incredible food drive efforts during the months of November and December. These organizations, along with the numerous individuals that contributed, allowed us to make sure that over 200 individuals had a happier and healthier holiday season.

We honor the memory of Waltraud “Vickie” Geltmacher and her beneficence in remembering The Columbia Food Bank in her estate planning. Mrs. Geltmacher was a long-time resident of our community who sadly passed away in January 2022 at the age of 92. We are very thankful and blessed to have members of our community that so generously remember us and our mission “that no one should know hunger".

During their Earth Day Celebration, the community brought 149,664 cans twho in turn is donating $1,000 to us for their efforts! Thank you so much for your continued support.

Thank you to Mountville Lions Club and Dayspring Christian Academy for collecting 5,600 lbs of food and to the boys and girls of Troop 349 that helped unload it and carry it up the 27 steps to our sorting area! We couldn’t do it without you.

Shawn Blake of Columbia, PA, his neighbors, and friends at Universal Athletic Club in Lancaster, collected food donations weighing 1,600 pounds to help us fight food insecurity in our area. Thank you to Shawn and everyone who donated food for your generosity!
We will be closed June 7th -9th for a much need break for our staff and volunteers.

Local scouting troops collected and delivered 8, 560 pounds of food as part of their Scouting for Food Drive!!

Here Suzanne Ollar and Ralph Jones of The Columbia Food Bank joined members of the local Fire Department and Columbia School Board in the Grand Opening ceremony at the new GIANT in Columbia, PA. All three non-profits received a $1,000!
